Description: Salud y Paz operates two clinics that serve the poor Mayan population in Guatemala. 71% of the rural Mayan population live in EXTREME poverty, having an income of less than US$1.00/day, or approximately $360/year.
Project Salud y Paz was created in early 2001 as a project of International Hands in Service, a non-profit, tax-exempt organization that procures new and used vehicles, equipment, and supplies for Christian mission projects throughout the world. It is a project of the Iglesia Metodista Primitiva Nacional de Guatemala and the United Methodist Church in the United States. It is a designated Advance Special of the General Board of Global Ministries.
